The War Department’s own Pete Hegseth delivered one of the most powerful eulogies America has ever witnessed, honoring Charlie Kirk as more than a man—he honored him as a soldier for Christ, a patriot for America, and a warrior against the forces of darkness that threaten our nation.
From the podium, Hegseth described Kirk as “a patriot, a conservative, a leader, a builder, an advocate, an author, a lover of freedom, a husband, a father, a Christian and a warrior.” But the most striking theme was his emphasis on Kirk’s faith. “Only Christ is king, our Lord and Savior,” Hegseth declared. “Our sins are washed away by the blood of Jesus. Fear God and fear no man. That was Charlie Kirk.”
Kirk’s life was a testament to courage and conviction. In 2012, he founded Turning Point USA with a simple mission: to pull young Americans away from the Left’s indoctrination mills and back toward faith, family, and freedom. Over time, as Hegseth recounted, Kirk saw America’s struggles for what they truly are—not just political, not even cultural, but spiritual.
“This is not a political war, it’s not even a cultural war,” Hegseth reminded the crowd. “It’s a spiritual war. Faith and family first. There is a God, and as Charlie would say, it is not us. We’re sinners saved only by grace.”
Charlie Kirk’s movement began with liberty, but Hegseth made clear that Kirk ended up igniting something far greater: a spiritual revival. “Charlie started a political movement that grew into a spiritual awakening,” Hegseth said, noting the divine significance in Kirk’s last name—Kirk, meaning church. “On this Sunday morning, I’d like to think we’re all in Charlie’s church.”
Kirk’s passing, as tragic as it was, has already become a rallying cry for millions. Hegseth shared the message of a pastor who told him, “The devil overplayed his hand.” In trying to silence Kirk, evil only amplified his voice and cemented his legacy.
Charlie Kirk was not a soldier in uniform, but he fought on the front lines of America’s most important battlefields—college campuses, media platforms, and public squares where truth itself was under siege. “He waged war, not with a weapon, but with a tent, a microphone, his mind, and the truth—and the gates of hell could not prevail against him,” Hegseth declared.
For years, Kirk was mocked by the Left for being bold, for being Christian, and for refusing to bend the knee to the gods of political correctness. But he did what too few conservatives have the courage to do: he fought back. He fought with Scripture. He fought with truth. And he fought with the unshakable belief that America’s future must rest on God’s foundation.
Most Americans didn’t know Kirk once dreamed of West Point. That door closed, but as Hegseth noted, “his personal loss was our nation’s great gain.” Instead of serving in camouflage, Kirk served with words, with passion, with faith. He put on the armor of God daily, as Scripture commands, and he wore it with joy.
Hegseth honored him with words that will echo for years: “He died the way he lived, speaking the truth.”
Charlie Kirk was not only a warrior for America, he was a warrior for Christ. He ran the race. He finished the fight. And as Hegseth urged, it is now up to us—the living—to “live worthy of Charlie Kirk’s sacrifice and put Christ at the center of your life, as he advocated for giving His.”
Charlie Kirk is gone, but his fire has not been extinguished. It has spread. The Left thought they could silence him, but in truth, his voice is louder than ever. From Turning Point USA to the countless lives touched by his words, his mission carries on.
This moment—this very hour—is America’s new turning point.
And just as Charlie Kirk reminded us: it is not us. It is God.
