In a stunning revelation this week, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) unveiled the explosive “UK Censorship Files Part 2,” exposing how the British government orchestrated a coordinated effort to silence public criticism of immigration during the massive riots that rocked the UK in August 2024.

Jordan’s report reveals that UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and his Technology Secretary Peter Kyle actively pressured Big Tech companies to censor discussion surrounding immigration and the growing “two-tier” justice system—a system in which government critics face harsher treatment than violent criminals.
“As UK citizens become increasingly frustrated by a system weaponized against them, UK authorities wanted Big Tech to censor discussions about immigration and ‘narratives about the police and a ‘two-tier’ system,’” Jordan said in a statement.
Documents obtained by the committee show a disturbing pattern of government intrusion into free speech. One email from the Department for Science, Innovation, and Technology (DSIT), the UK’s leading tech regulator, instructed platforms to monitor and suppress narratives critical of immigration policies and the justice system. Platforms were told to “come back to us” on measures taken to enforce these restrictions.
Jordan condemned this brazen attack on free expression: “The implication was clear: the UK was telling platforms to censor true ‘narratives’ about a ‘two-tier’ justice system.” When British citizens dared to question the government’s costly housing of asylum seekers, London’s regulators pushed platforms to silence them.
Further chilling is the warning from London’s top police officer, who threatened to prosecute Americans for online posts criticizing UK immigration policies, regardless of where those posts originated.
President Donald Trump weighed in, cautioning Starmer that censoring platforms like Truth Social would be a grave mistake. Starmer, however, doubled down, claiming his government’s Online Safety Act protects children, but these “protections” are clearly being used as a guise for political censorship.
Jordan made it clear this is just the beginning. His committee continues to uncover evidence of governments worldwide colluding with Big Tech to suppress conservative voices and factual information.
“Governments always want to censor criticism of the government,” Jordan said. “The UK’s efforts to silence its citizens—and now anyone in the world who dares criticize it—should alarm us all.”
As the West grapples with unchecked immigration and rising civil unrest, the UK’s censorship campaign is a stark reminder of the lengths political elites will go to muzzle the truth and maintain power. The American people must stay vigilant against such encroachments on free speech here at home.
