Health Secretary Alex Azar said, Monday, that the first two vaccines against the Coronavirus may be available to Americans before Christmas after Moderna became the second vaccine maker to potentially obtain emergency clearance from the United States.
External advisors to the Food and Drug Administration will meet on December 10 to consider licensing a COVID-19 vaccine from Pfizer Inc. The vaccine could be approved and shipped in a few days, with Moderna a week later, he said.
“So we could be seeing both of these vaccines out and getting into people’s arms before Christmas,” Azar said on CBS’ “This Morning.”
