Trump’s “Midway Blitz” Crushes Chicago’s Sanctuary Chaos: DHS Takes Down Criminal Aliens Protected by Democrats

President Trump’s “Midway Blitz” has already delivered devastating results to the open-borders agenda of Illinois Democrats. The Department of Homeland Security announced today that it has ripped some of the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens off the streets of Chicago—criminals who had been shielded for years by Governor J.B. Pritzker’s reckless sanctuary state policies.

The crackdown, named in honor of Katie Abraham, a young Illinois woman tragically killed by a drunk-driving illegal alien, Julio Cucul-Bol, is a direct response to years of Democrat betrayal of American citizens in favor of foreign nationals who enter our country illegally and wreak havoc.

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, speaking on the ground in Chicago, left no doubt about the administration’s resolve:

“President Trump has been clear: if politicians will not put the safety of their citizens first, this administration will. Just this morning, DHS took violent offenders off the streets with arrests for assault, DUI, and felony stalking. Our work is only beginning.”

DHS released the first set of names in a long list of dangerous criminal aliens who had been hiding in plain sight under Pritzker’s protection:

  • Christian Alejandro Lopez-Cervantes – Mexico – felony assault, domestic violence, felony illegal reentry.

  • Mauricio Garcia-Vasquez – Mexico – unlawful use of a weapon, illegal ammunition possession.

  • Aldo Salazar-Bahena – Mexico – convicted of murder.

  • Gabriel Soto-Rivera – Mexico – charged with domestic violence.

  • Catalino Alejandro Lux-Saquik – Mexico – domestic violence, final order of removal ignored.

  • Javier Garcia-Diego – Mexico – felony assault.

  • Jose Gonzalez-Ortiz – Mexico – sexual assault, convicted of battery.

  • Jose Patino-Juarez – Mexico – obstructing justice, assault, disorderly conduct.

  • Rosalio Pelayo-Salgado – Mexico – eight DUIs, vehicle theft, obstruction, felony drug conviction, previously deported.

  • Jean Carlos Aranda Gonzalez – Colombia – drug trafficking, resisting arrest, larceny conviction.

  • Luis Manuel Carrasquel-Hernandez – Venezuela – assault, trespassing, weapons offenses.

This is not a random sweep. This is surgical law enforcement. These men are not “immigrants,” as the corporate press and the left-wing NGOs will try to spin them—they are predators, gangsters, and killers who have treated America like a playground for crime because Democrats told them they would be safe here.

The case of Katie Abraham should never have happened. Her blood is on the hands of every sanctuary politician in Illinois who created a magnet for lawless foreign criminals. Instead of standing with citizens, Governor Pritzker and his allies stood with cartels, gangs, and killers.

They made Chicago a sanctuary—for crime. President Trump and Secretary Noem are tearing down that sanctuary brick by brick.

This is what America First leadership looks like: promises made, promises kept. While Democrats cry about “rights” for illegal aliens, Trump’s DHS is focused on the rights of citizens to live without fear in their own country.

The “Midway Blitz” is only beginning. Secretary Noem’s warning should ring in every sanctuary city hall and governor’s mansion across America: if you harbor criminal aliens, DHS is coming.

For families like the Abrahams, who have suffered unimaginable loss, this is justice long overdue. For the rest of America, this is hope restored.

Finally, the American people have a president who will put them first.
