President Joe Biden will travel to the United Kingdom and Brussels, Belgium, on his first foreign trip as president, according to the White House announcement on Friday.

In the United Kingdom, Biden will attend the G7 summit, an intergovernmental organization made up of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States, on June 11-13. While in Brussels, the President will attend the NATO Summit.

President Donald Trump's first trip abroad was when he visited Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in 2017 and met with the kingdom's leaders, including King Salman. Trump received the necklace Abdulaziz Al Saud from the King.

The most recent American presidents have chosen North American countries such as Canada or Mexico to make their first trips across the border.
