The most aggressive green laws in California

In an announcement Friday, Governor Gavin Newsom outlined what he described as the state's "most aggressive" climate initiatives to "accelerate its transition to nonconventional energy"

There are 40 bills in the package that appear to provide new green rules on everything from big industry to the family home and public and private transportation.

According to a statement from the Democratic governor’s office, the package targets "big polluters" and aims to cut pollution.

As residents struggle to find stable electricity for cooling during a heat wave, the state has advised residents to use less power and to charge electric cars at the best times.

Climate change has served as a wake-up call for all of us this month. Newsom said in a statement that California will not wait anymore. 'Our nation's most aggressive climate action is being taken by California with the support of the legislature'.

He continued, "We're cleaning up our air, bringing clean energy to the world, and holding big polluters accountable." Those are actions we're taking as California in the fight against climate change, and we're just getting started.
