On Monday, the Supreme Court agreed to hear a major abortion case and will hear Mississippi’s appeal for a lower court ruling overturning the ban on most abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy.
The case will give the Supreme Court an opportunity to review landmark rulings on abortion, including Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey. With Roe v. Wade, in a ruling mocked by conservatives and religious followers, in 1973 the high court ruled a woman's right to have an abortion and reaffirmed it some 20 years later.
