Although the economy shrank in the first quarter and is showing signs of entering a recession, the latest state economic outlook is showing continued improvement through 2022 for North Dakota.

University of North Dakota economists predict that wages and salaries will grow along with an increasingly skilled labor force, decreasing unemployment rates, and a growing gross state product.
