Governor Andrew Cuomo said Wednesday that any stadium with a capacity of more than 10,000 people can host events starting February 23 with a capacity of 10%, provided the state's health department approves its safety plans.
Cuomo said the Barclays Center in Brooklyn had already secured approval for a basketball match between the Brooklyn Nets and the Sacramento Kings that day.
Some stadiums, including Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, have already been reassigned as mass vaccination sites. State officials said they will discuss with site officials how to continue vaccination efforts once the sports and concerts return.
