Kamala Harris Seeks Safe Harbor on Stephen Colbert’s Couch After Crushing 2024 Defeat

Former Vice President Kamala Harris, fresh off her decisive defeat by Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election, has chosen an unsurprisingly tame venue for her first major post-election media appearance: Stephen Colbert’s Late Show. The choice is telling.

Harris, who spent much of the campaign trail dodging tough questions and deflecting criticism, is clearly seeking comfort in an echo chamber for the launch of her new book, 107 Days. The tome promises a “behind-the-scenes look” at what she calls “the shortest presidential campaign in modern history” — a campaign that the American people decisively rejected.

It’s no surprise Harris picked Colbert, a known left-wing partisan, as her first interviewee. This strategic move ensures she won’t face any hard-hitting scrutiny, just softball questions from an old ally. Her last appearance on Colbert’s show was mere weeks before Election Day last year — when the outcome was still uncertain. Now, with the dust settled and the verdict clear, Harris is hiding behind the safe walls of liberal media.

In other news, Harris has formally announced she will not seek the Democrat nomination for Governor of California. After months of wavering, the former Veep has finally admitted what many suspected: her political career may be over. She declared, “For now, my leadership—and public service—will not be in elected office,” signaling an indefinite retreat from the front lines of American politics.

Harris says she plans to “help elect Democrats across the nation who will fight fearlessly,” but after such a spectacular loss, her ability to inspire or lead is highly questionable. Instead of stepping up, Harris seems content to fade into the background, relying on political activism and media appearances rather than real leadership.

The American people rejected Harris and the Democrats’ radical agenda in 2024, handing Trump a historic victory. Now, as she retreats behind celebrity-friendly media and avoids accountability, it’s clear that Harris’s era is ending — quietly, safely, and on her own terms.

The question remains: Will the Democrat Party learn from this defeat, or continue to prop up politicians like Harris who avoid real debate and refuse to face voters’ concerns?
