Is AOC Pushing Democrats to Sabotage America Just to Spite Trump?

Writer: David ColbertDavid Colbert

In yet another display of radical leftist obstructionism, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) is urging Democrats to let the Trump administration shut down the government rather than negotiate in good faith. Instead of working toward solutions, AOC is demanding that her party refuse to support the continuing resolution (CR), effectively holding the nation hostage for political gain.

AOC took to social media to pressure Senate Democrats, warning them not to be “deceived” into voting for the CR. She claims Republicans will use reconciliation later, rendering Democratic votes unnecessary. But what she conveniently ignores is that reconciliation is a legal and established budgetary process, one that Democrats themselves have used to push their own radical agendas in the past.

Her call to action—“Vote NO on Cloture AND Vote NO on the Republican spending bill”—reveals the left’s true strategy: total obstruction. AOC and her far-left allies are more interested in creating chaos and scoring political points than in keeping the government running. She openly admits that today is the “showdown,” proving that her goal is political theater rather than responsible governance.

This reckless stance highlights how extreme the modern Democratic Party has become. Instead of working to secure America’s future, they would rather see the government shut down just to block President Trump’s policies. If Democrats cave to AOC’s pressure, it will confirm what many conservatives have long known: the left is more concerned with opposing Trump than with doing what’s right for the American people.

The real question is, will moderate Democrats stand up to this radicalism, or will they allow AOC and the progressive mob to dictate their actions? The American people deserve better than petty partisan games. It’s time to put the country first and reject the far-left’s dangerous tactics.
