During clashes at Al-Aqsa Mosque, 9 Israelis were arrested

As the Muslim month of Ramadan runs concurrently with the Jewish holiday of Passover, violence at the Al-Aqsa mosque compound erupted on Friday. There is concern that the conflict will slide back into a deeper conflict. On Sunday, Christians celebrated Easter in Jerusalem.

Palestinian stone-throwers smashed windows on two buses on Sunday, lightly wounding several passengers. Police said they were not seriously injured. Authorities said nine people were arrested.

Israel's police has temporarily restricted Palestinians' access to the compound - another vestige of ancient Jewish temples - after dawn prayers in order to facilitate a Jewish visit to the site on foot under guard.
