I'm sorry to break the news to my favorite Country Western singer Luke Combs --- there IS love in Oklahoma tonight‼️
The Oklahoma Sooners (43 -23) captured the men's Baseball National Championship on
Monday night in Omaha, Nebraska dominating the North Carolina Tar Heels (54-14-1) winning 13 -2 in the deciding game of the Div 1 College World Series.
The Sooners were not to be denied in their 2nd opportunity to win the National
Championship after winning game 1 and falling in game 2 in the best of three games series--They got on the board in the second inning when Kyle Branch singles in the first run and scored on a Wild pitch to give the Sooners a 2 - 0 lead after two innings -- this was the beginning of a big night for the Sooners Sophomore second baseman who bats last in the batting order.
Oklahoma's Jaxon Willits scored a run in the 3rd inning on a clutch 2 out RBI single by
Brendon Brock and then plated 2 with his single in the 5th inning giving the Sooners an
insurmountable lead at 6 - 1 --and the Love for Oklahoma was growing to win the National
Championship ‼️
And then it was ALL about Kyle Branch-- as he showed NO LOVE FOR THE BOYS IN BLUE
with his 2 out 2 RBI single in the 6th increasing the Sooners lead 9 - 1 and then he added a cherry on top of the National Championship by clubbing a 2 out 3 run Home Run with his 3rd hit giving him 6 RBI's in the Championship game --A GAME THAT HE AND MANY SOONER FANS WILL REMEMBER FOR YEARS TO COME final score -- SOONERS 13 -TAR HEELS 2
DAVES DIME --editorial As a school teacher for many years I was not a big fan of the Pop
quiz-- But I have a question for you fans -- What makes a good umpire - official or
referee .... My answer are umpires - officials and Referees that are not in the story of the
game and go quietly unnoticed throughout.
Unfortunately, that was not the case in the MCWS Championship game --College Baseball needs to follow MLB and allow coaches to challenge calls on the field -- FOR THE GOOD OF THE GAME DAVE CARTER
