Wildfire damage costs in California reach $55 million




Two major wildfires started by one of the nation's largest utilities were the cause of prosecutors' decision to drop criminal charges against Pacific Gas & Electric.


More than 23,000 homes and businesses have been destroyed and more than 100 people have died in wildfires caused by Pacific Gas & Electric in the past two years. In 2016, it reached settlements with more than $25.5 billion worth of wildfire victims.
