Abu Dhabi — In an unprecedented escalation, the United Arab Emirates has condemned Iran’s sustained missile and drone strikes over the past 48 hours as a clear act of terrorism and a crime against humanity, accusing Tehran of deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure in violation of international law. Iranian forces launched hundreds of ballistic missiles, drones and cruise missiles across the UAE, striking airports, ports and residential areas despite advanced air-defense interceptions. Authorities reported multiple fatalities and dozens of injuries, with debris from intercepted weapons causing damage in Dubai and Abu Dhabi—an assault that shattered Gulf peace and stability.
In a firm response, the UAE withdrew its ambassador from Tehran, closed its embassy, and suspended all diplomatic relations, signaling a total rupture in ties with the Iranian regime. Emirati leaders praised their citizens’ resilience but warned that “enough is enough” after days of relentless attacks on civilians and critical infrastructure. Gulf allies and Western partners have expressed solidarity with the UAE, condemning Iran’s aggression as a breach of sovereignty and a threat to regional security.
The government stressed it will take all necessary measures to protect national security and its people, and urged the international community to hold Tehran accountable for its actions.
