A federal judge ruled that two men accused of assaulting police officers during a rape on the Capitol building earlier this year should remain behind bars pending trial.
Julian Khater, 32, of Pennsylvania, and George Tanios, 39, of West Virginia, have been charged with using a chemical spray against police who were defending the Capitol on January 6.
According to the Associated Press that Federal District Judge Thomas Hogan denied on Tuesday the release of the two men on bail after it was discovered that they were a threat to society.
