TRUMP DELIVERS VICTORY FOR TAXPAYERS AND TRUTH: Senate Passes $9 Billion in Spending Cut to NPR, PBS, and others

In a powerful win for American families, traditional values, and common sense, President Donald J. Trump scored a major legislative victory early Tuesday morning as the U.S. Senate passed a sweeping $9 billion spending cut package — a decisive step toward restoring fiscal sanity in Washington. Most notably, this historic legislation includes long-overdue cuts to National Public Radio (NPR) and the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), two taxpayer-funded bastions of left-wing propaganda.

The bill passed narrowly in a 51–48 vote, with nearly all Republicans rallying behind President Trump’s vision of leaner, more accountable government. The only two Republicans to betray this cause — Sens. Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) — once again revealed their loyalty lies not with the conservative movement, but with the bloated bureaucracy of the D.C. swamp.

Despite having voted against the measure earlier, Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) ultimately supported the bill — a rare and welcome move that helped push the legislation across the finish line.

Senator Tina Smith (D-Minn.), an ardent defender of unchecked spending and radical progressive priorities, conveniently missed the vote due to a hospital stay. Her absence made little difference. The people’s President had already set the wheels of reform in motion.

With America’s national debt ballooning past $36 trillion, President Trump and conservative champions in the Senate are finally doing what career politicians have refused to: stand up for the American taxpayer and slash funding for institutions that have long abandoned their missions of neutrality and public service.

Let’s be honest — NPR and PBS haven't been about education or culture in years. They’ve become mouthpieces for anti-Christian, anti-family, and anti-American ideologies, funded by your hard-earned dollars. This bill begins the process of turning off the spigot.

Senate Majority Whip John Thune (R-S.D.), standing shoulder to shoulder with President Trump, called the vote “a small but important step toward fiscal sanity.” He’s right — but it’s also a symbolic stand against the left’s dominance over taxpayer-funded media.

“Our country is $36 trillion in debt,” Thune declared. “We can’t keep doing things the way we’ve been doing them.”

President Trump has long warned that the deep state and the left-wing media — including NPR and PBS — are tools used to erode our constitutional values, spread socialist propaganda. By demanding these cuts, he’s not only honoring his promises to voters, but he's once again proving that real leadership means making tough choices.

This is the first rescissions package passed by Congress in over 35 years. That’s not just policy — that’s a movement.

Under the Impoundment Control Act of 1974, Trump’s $9 billion rollback stands as one of the largest rescissions ever approved by the Senate. And even though House Democrats tried to include controversial funding for international HIV programs with ties to abortion advocacy, Trump’s leadership ensured those cuts were removed.

Make no mistake — this victory is just the beginning. Democrats will scream. NPR will weep. Hollywood elites and progressive academics will bemoan the end of their taxpayer-funded gravy train. But grassroots America — the heartland, the church pews, the factory floors — will cheer.

This is a victory for every Christian mom in America who’s tired of leftist indoctrination on Sesame Street. For every working dad who doesn’t want his taxes funding lectures on gender ideology. For every patriot who knows that the Constitution does not require us to bankroll our enemies.

President Trump is putting America first — again.

God Bless Donald J. Trump. God Bless America.

Let’s keep cutting. Let’s keep fighting. Let’s take back our country.
