The Blasphemy at the Bowl: Why “Jesus Christ Superstar” and Cynthia Erivo’s Casting Is a Mockery of Our Faith — And Why DONALD TRUMP Must Step In

America is not merely in a cultural decline — we are witnessing the intentional erosion of Christian values at the hands of Hollywood elites and globalist entertainers. The latest example? The shocking, blasphemous decision to cast Cynthia Erivo, a female, as Jesus Christ Himself in this summer’s staging of Jesus Christ Superstar at the Hollywood Bowl.

Yes, you read that correctly — a woman playing Jesus, the Son of the Living God, the male Savior of the world. This isn’t "art." This isn’t "progress." This is a deliberate act of mockery, and a full-frontal attack on the foundations of Christianity.

Erivo, who recently portrayed a witch in Wicked — a show already steeped in spiritual confusion — now dares to step into the most sacred role in human history. She claims to be a Catholic, yet in an interview with Elle, she says things like: “The rules that people put upon others have nothing to do with me and my faith.” What does that even mean? God’s Word is not optional. It is not subjective. It is eternal.

Let’s be clear: this isn’t just a casting issue — it’s a spiritual assault. The play Jesus Christ Superstar has always been problematic: portraying our Lord as confused, uncertain, even romanticizing Judas. But this new casting takes the heresy to an unprecedented level. Cynthia Erivo, as Jesus Christ, is yet another example of how Christianity is the only faith the mainstream feels safe to mock.

Would Hollywood dare cast a female as Prophet in an other faith drama? Would they stage a drag-themed reinterpretation of Hinduism? Of course not. The outcry would be immediate and deafening.

Why, then, do Christians remain silent?

In a time where sacred crosses are worn as fashion accessories by musicians glorifying sin, and Satan is literally given a lap dance in music videos (yes, we’re looking at you, Lil Nas X), it's evident that Christophobia — the casual hatred of Christianity — is not only tolerated but celebrated.

This isn’t just art. This is spiritual warfare.

And Christians can no longer afford to be passive. We are commanded to speak the truth in love — and that means not letting these kinds of productions go unchecked. We need strong leadership that will not tolerate this desecration of our Savior’s image. We need someone who will stand up for Christian values in the public square.

That is why we are calling on President Donald J. Trump — the only leader bold enough to call out this madness — to take immediate action:

  • Ban the blasphemous show Jesus Christ Superstar from federal and publicly subsidized venues.

  • Launch an investigation into discriminatory practices in Hollywood that allow Christianity to be mocked with impunity.

  • Protect Christian speech and defend the faith in the same way other religions are defended from defamation.

We are not asking for censorship. We are asking for equal respect. If other religions are given legal and cultural shields from mockery, so too must Christianity. Anything less is religious discrimination.

The time for Christian silence is over. The Gospel is not entertainment. The Lord Jesus Christ is not a role to be played by whoever fits the modern diversity narrative. He is God Almighty, and we will not sit back as His name is dragged through the mud on one of the most famous stages in America.

Let us pray, yes — but let us also act. The time has come to reclaim the culture for Christ.

"Be not deceived; God is not mocked." — Galatians 6:7

America was built on Judeo-Christian values — it’s time we started defending them again.
