According to authorities, one man was murdered and eight others were injured following a nighttime shooting at a party that gathered around 100 people to a Southern California hookah bar.

Sgt. Equino Thomas of the San Bernardino Police Department said officers deployed late Friday discovered a guy shot in the parking lot outside the strip mall club where the party had been promoted on social media in the city east of Los Angeles. Allen Gresham, 20, was declared deceased at the scene, according to a police statement.

The shooting involving at least two people started inside the hookah lounge after an argument and people spilled into the parking lot, where more shots were fired, Thomas and the statement said.
