Opinion: The Epstein Scandal Shows Why Americans No Longer Trust Powerful Elites

The latest Epstein document releases have reignited a wave of public anger and suspicion across the country. While online rumors — including extreme claims about occult activities — continue to circulate, the deeper issue is not speculation, but the undeniable reality that a powerful criminal network operated for years without being fully exposed.

Rep. Tim Burchett and other officials have warned that the files reveal troubling details about powerful networks that operated in secrecy for years. While online on social media have circulated sensational rumors claiming the documents include references to occult or “satanic” activities, no verified evidence from official sources or mainstream news reporting has confirmed such allegations.

The scandal has become a symbol of a system where wealth, influence, and political connections appear to protect the elite from accountability. Whether or not sensational rumors prove true, they reflect a deeper crisis: millions of Americans no longer trust institutions to deliver full transparency.

Restoring confidence in justice will require total disclosure, equal enforcement of the law, and the assurance that no powerful figure stands above accountability.
