NFL WEEK 1 WAS AWESOME
This Season is off to a GREAT start‼️ we had it all in week 1-- Major upsets ( Cardinals - 49ers - Giants ) amazing comebacks (Vikings - Saints -- Commanders) exciting finishes ( Seahawks - Lions - Bills - Eagles ) Blow outs ( 49ers - Bears - Jaguars - Chiefs) Horrible performances (Rams - Chargers - Browns - Broncos) and the season has just started ‼️
The 'Game of the week' between the Bills and the Texans lived up to it’s billing. In a seesaw battle between two teams favored to win their divisions, the Texans drove down the field in the final minute of the game and we're in a great position to score a touchdown and defeat the Buffalo Bills. The Bills had their backs to the goal line and the Texans fans were screaming for a Touchdown, but it did not happen when the Bills Defense stiffened and thwarted the Texans quest for a victory as the final seconds ticked off the game clock – final score Bills 36 Texans 31. Major upsets – Cardinals defeat Chargers 26-14 and they were double digit underdogs‼️ 49ers blowout Rams in Australia 27-7 as 3.5 pt underdogs And the NY Giants upset the Cowboys 28-20 as a 3.5 home underdog. Blowouts—Jaguars mauled the Browns 31-10, the Chiefs harnessed the Broncos 32-10 and the Bears scored 59 pts (59 – 37 ) and devoured the Panthers in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Amazing comebacks--- The Saints marched down the field twice , at the end of regulation and in overtime vs the Lions before the King of the jungle chomped down on the victory on the final play in overtime to win 31-30 ‼️ The Vikings were trailing the Packers by double digits 22-10 and ended the game by scoring 29 consecutive points winning 39-22. Washington Commanders recap-- The Washington Commanders almost pulled off a miracle comeback in Philadelphia. Trailing 17-9 at the start of the 4th quarter they scored touchdowns on 2 consecutive drives and needed a 2 point conversion after their final Touchdown to tie the game unfortunately, it failed and their gallant comeback in the land of brotherly love fell short 24 – 22.
Quarterback Jayden Daniels played well in his return from a late season injury last season, he passed 18 -- 34 for 164 yds and 2 TD’s, rushed for 31 yds on 5 carries, and looked ready to have a great season. Eagles QB Jalen Hurts was equally efficient throwing 14 – 25 for 203 yards 3 TD’s and rushed for 46 yds on 7 carries. The Commanders Offensive line did a superb job of caging the Eagles vaunted pass rush, allowing 1 QB sack and just 2 pressures. Defensively the Commanders registered 3 QB sacks and put pressure on Eagles QB Jaylon Hurts-- keeping him somewhat uncomfortable in the pocket. The difference in the outcome was truly affected by a missed 54 yd FG in the 3rd Qtr and a missed Point after try when the Eagles flew in to block the kick. Those 4 pts would have changed the outcome in this well fought Divisional battle. The Commanders travel to play the Cowboys who lost at the NY Giants 28- 20 on SNF -- Sunday Sept 20 at 4:25 pm EST.
