Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey Faces Backlash for Delivering Reelection Speech in Somali

Minneapolis, MN — Mayor Jacob Frey (D) has sparked outrage after delivering part of his reelection victory speech in Somali, raising fresh concerns about the growing erosion of American cultural identity.

Video footage shows Frey addressing the crowd in Somali, thanking those who supported him and calling Minneapolis “a place where you are proud to call home, no matter where you are from.” While Frey defended his comments as inclusive, critics slammed the move as tone-deaf and un-American.

Frey’s choice of language symbolizes the ongoing liberal push to prioritize identity politics over national unity. “When an American mayor chooses to address foreign communities in their native language rather than uniting everyone under one flag and one tongue, it’s not progress — it’s surrender.

Minneapolis, once a strong symbol of Midwestern pride, has in recent years become a focal point for progressive social experiments. Many residents now fear that multicultural pandering is replacing the city’s American identity.

As debates flare nationwide about assimilation and patriotism, Frey’s speech stands as a reminder of how far the Left will go to redefine what it means to be American — even if it means leaving the English language behind.
