Louisiana asks SCOTUS to block Biden administration's costs calculations

Jeff Landry, the Louisiana attorney general, has vowed to take the Biden administration to court over its recalculation and use of the "social cost" of carbon emissions, a measure used in climate regulation that critics warn raises operating costs for businesses and prices for consumers needlessly.


Carbon dioxide is a gas expelled from the lungs when humans breathe and has long been considered a pollutant by critics. Plants use carbon dioxide for photosynthesis, which is essential to life on our planet. Carbon dioxide is believed to contribute to climate change by environmentalists.
