Justice Prevails: Judge Steps Aside as Oregon Fights Trump’s Bold Move to Crush Left-Wing Chaos

PORTLAND, Ore: In a decisive step toward restoring law and order, President Donald J. Trump’s administration is taking firm action to federalize 200 members of the Oregon National Guard to defend federal immigration facilities in Portland — a city long plagued by radical left-wing mobs and soft-on-crime leadership.

The move, authorized under Title 10 of the U.S. Code, reflects Trump’s unwavering commitment to protect federal property, border enforcement agencies, and the brave men and women who serve our nation — even when blue-state leaders refuse to do so.

Predictably, Oregon’s Democrat leadership erupted in outrage. Attorney General Dan Rayfield rushed to file a lawsuit on September 28, accusing the president of “exaggerating” the threat posed by far-left rioters — the same extremists who torched federal buildings, attacked law enforcement, and terrorized communities for years under Democrat watch.

But the lawsuit hit an immediate snag when U.S. District Judge Michael Simon recused himself from the case on October 2. The Department of Justice wisely requested his withdrawal after revealing that his wife, Democratic Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici, had publicly denounced Trump’s plan as a “gross abuse of power” and insisted “no military is welcome or needed here.”

This blatant political bias from a sitting member of Congress directly tied to the presiding judge made the recusal not only appropriate but necessary. The DOJ rightly argued that Simon’s impartiality could be reasonably questioned, given his spouse’s central role in the political debate surrounding the case.

This development underscores a deeper truth: Democrat officials in Oregon have repeatedly failed to protect their own citizens from violent radicals masquerading as “protesters.” Instead of partnering with the federal government to restore peace, they attack President Trump for taking the action they refuse to take.

President Trump’s decision to federalize the National Guard isn’t a “power grab.” It’s a constitutional, lawful, and moral duty to defend America’s federal assets from domestic terrorists who seek to undermine our sovereignty. Portland has become a symbol of what happens when progressive leadership prioritizes ideology over safety — chaos, lawlessness, and open contempt for the rule of law.

Trump’s America First administration will not allow federal immigration facilities — essential to securing the border and enforcing U.S. law — to be overrun by anarchists emboldened by weak state leadership.

The left calls this “overreach.” Patriots call it leadership.

With Judge Simon stepping aside, the path is now clear for a fair hearing — one unclouded by partisan influence — where the Constitution will stand tall and President Trump’s lawful authority will prevail.

This is yet another reminder of why America chose Trump again in 2024: to bring back order, strength, and common sense.

While Democrats play politics, President Trump is once again doing what he does best — defending America from threats foreign and domestic, no matter where they come from or how loud the radical left screams.

America First. Law and Order Always.
