Georgia's largest county begins a criminal investigation into Trump's efforts to influence the elect

Prosecutors in Georgia's largest county opened a criminal investigation into attempts by former US President Donald Trump to influence the results of the 2020 state elections and ordered government officials Wednesday to preserve documents of the second known criminal investigation facing Trump.

Fulton County Attorney General Fanny Willis sent letters to state officials, including Republican Secretary of State Brad Ravensberger and Governor Brian Kemp, notifying them of the investigation and seeking to preserve "all records potentially related to the administration of" the state's elections on November 3.
