Biden confirmed New Isis leader Ibrahim al-Qurayshi dead



On Thursday, the US President confirmed that New Isis leader Ibrahim al-Qurayshi along with his family committed suicide during a raid by US commandos on a house in northwest Syria.


According to the White House, Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi detonated a bomb that killed him and others from this family. There were 13 women and children killed, the White House said.


'Last night at my direction, U.S. military forces in northwest Syria successfully undertook a counterterrorism operation to protect the American people and our Allies, and make the world a safer place. Thanks to the skill and bravery of our Armed Forces, we have taken off the battlefield Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi—the leader of ISIS. All Americans have returned safely from the operation,' the president said in a statement early Thursday morning.

Known as Abdullah Qardash or Hajji Abdullah, Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurashi was made leader of ISIS after former leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi also died in a U.S. raid in Barisha in 2019 under the Trump administration.
