Armed Intruder Shot Dead After Breaching Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Security Perimeter

PALM BEACH, Florida — A dramatic overnight security breach at President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate ended in deadly force early Sunday when an armed intruder was shot and killed by U.S. Secret Service agents and a local sheriff’s deputy, officials confirmed.

According to law enforcement, the incident unfolded at approximately 1:30 a.m. when a man in his early 20s made an unauthorized entry through the property’s north gate while carrying what appeared to be a shotgun and a fuel can.

Authorities said agents immediately confronted the suspect and ordered him to disarm. Instead, officials reported he raised the shotgun into a firing position, prompting officers to open fire. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

No Secret Service personnel or Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputies were injured, and no individuals under federal protection — including President Trump — were present at the estate at the time.

Investigators later identified the suspect as a 21-year-old man from North Carolina who had been reported missing by his family shortly before the incident. Authorities believe he traveled south and obtained the weapon during his journey.

The FBI is now leading the investigation, working alongside the Secret Service and local law enforcement to determine motive, mental state, and whether the breach was part of a larger threat.

This marks the latest in a string of security threats targeting President Trump in recent years, underscoring ongoing concerns about political violence and the heightened security posture surrounding the presidency.
