In the aftermath of yet another attempt on the life of Donald Trump, a stunning new poll confirms what the political establishment refuses to admit: the media’s war on Trump is no longer just rhetoric—it’s having real-world consequences.
The April 25 attack at the Washington Hilton, where an armed suspect attempted to breach security during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, marked the third major assassination attempt against Trump in less than two years.
Now, according to a new survey reported by Newsmax citing Rasmussen Reports, a clear majority of Americans believe the mainstream media helped inspire the attack.
Let that sink in.
Sixty percent of likely voters say it is at least somewhat likely that relentless negative coverage of Trump played a role in motivating the would-be assassin. Only 29 percent reject that idea.
This isn’t fringe—it’s a national awakening.
Across racial lines, political affiliations, and demographics, Americans are reaching the same conclusion: years of branding Trump as a “threat,” a “dictator,” or worse, have consequences. When the press dehumanizes a sitting president day after day, it creates an environment where violence becomes thinkable.
Even as the suspect reportedly carried a manifesto attacking Trump administration policies, the broader context cannot be ignored.
The media-industrial complex has spent nearly a decade pushing a single narrative—Trump is dangerous, illegitimate, and must be stopped at all costs. That message, repeated endlessly across networks, social media, and late-night television, has now collided with reality.
And Americans see it.
The Rasmussen polling also reveals a deeper crisis: 71% of voters believe political violence in America is getting worse, while nearly three-quarters say the media is making the country more divided—not more united.
This is the cost of narrative warfare.
While left-wing commentators rushed to blame Trump himself for the violence, others—including voices within his administration—have pointed directly at what they call a “cult of hatred” fueled by media elites.
Three assassination attempts. Escalating threats. A nation on edge.
The question is no longer whether the media plays a role in America’s political instability—it’s whether those driving the narrative will ever be held accountable.
Because if this continues, the next headline may not end with a failed attempt.
