OPEC+ nations, including Riyadh, and the United States are reviewing various options for their relationship after the Saudis cut oil production significantly this week. U.S. secretary of state Antony Blinken said on Thursday that the United States is considering various options regarding its relationship with Saudi Arabia.

We are reviewing a number of options regarding the future relationship [with Riyadh]. At a news conference in Lima alongside his Peruvian counterpart, Blinken said, "We are consulting closely with Congress."

In his remarks, Blinken did not specify what steps Washington was contemplating. OPEC+ oil producers, including Russia, reached an agreement on Wednesday to cut production, and the Biden administration is considering a response.
