Ketanji Brown Jackson will likely be confirmed as the first Black woman on the Supreme Court on Thursday, garnering the backing of both Democrats and Republicans for President Joe Biden's historic choice.
Jackson, who will replace Breyer when he steps down this summer, has the support of three Republican senators. Despite being far from the overwhelming bipartisan confirmations for Breyer and other justices in decades past, this vote is still a significant achievement for Biden in the narrow 50-50 Senate after GOP senators aggressively took aim at Jackson's liberal views.
