In an interview on CNN's "OutFront," White House Communications Director Kate Bedingfield repeated that there was no inflation this week, in line with President Biden's statement.

After the latest annual data showed inflation growing at 0.0 in July, she maintained Biden's zero inflation narrative.

“I would note that the inflation data in July was 0.0. So, we are seeing inflation decrease,” said Bedingfield.

“We know that part of the reason we see inflation is because the economy around the world, not just in the United States, but around the world, is coming back from having essentially ground to a halt during the pandemic.”

After a 41-year high of 9.1 percent in June, after market expectations of 8.7 percent, costs of goods and services rose to 8.5 percent in July.

Prices of food, rent, and electricity continued to rise in July, despite a 7.7 percent drop in gas prices from June.
