Watchdog: Fundraising Surges for Secretary of State Candidates in Swing States 'Very Disturbing'

According to a recent analysis, fundraising for candidates running for secretary of state in the critical swing states of Georgia, Michigan, and Minnesota has increased significantly compared to previous elections.

According to early statistics, campaign contributions in the three states are 2.5 times more than they were at the same stage in the last two election cycles, according to research issued on Wednesday by the Brennan Center for Justice at New York University School of Law.

"These elections are known for being exceedingly drowsy." "These are bureaucrats who no one cares about," Ian Vandewalker, a senior counsel at the Brennan Center's Democracy Program and a study co-author, said.

The Brennan Center for Justice is a nonprofit legal and public policy center at New York University Law School that is named after Supreme Court Justice William J. Brennan.

According to the Brennan Center's analysis, secretary of state electors in the states of Georgia and Michigan, which were crucial to President Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election, have received 2.5 times more campaign contributions than they did at a similar point in the previous two election cycles.
