Two people were killed and three wounded in robberies before six 7-Eleven stores in California

Six 7-Eleven stores in Southern California were robbed before dawn Monday, killing two people and wounding three more. Authorities are still seeking the same lone gunman.

On July 11, 7/11, the anniversary of 7-Eleven, the string of violence happened within the span of about five hours. The store gave out free Slurpee on Monday to celebrate its 95th anniversary.

“I think the only person to answer that would be the suspect,” said Officer Ryan Railsback, a spokesperson for the Riverside Police Department.

7-Eleven Inc. issued a statement saying it was gathering information and working with police. “Our hearts are with the victims and their loved ones,” the statement said.

Ontario, Upland, Riverside, Santa Ana, Brea and La Habra were all affected by violence, but investigators could not determine what caused the conflict.
