WASHINGTON, D.C. — In a landmark announcement that promises relief for millions of Americans, President Donald J. Trump revealed on Thursday a sweeping trade deal that will dramatically lower the cost of fertility treatments across the United States.

Standing at the White House alongside Libby Horne, Senior Vice President of Fertility at EMD Serono, President Trump unveiled an agreement that ensures “most favored nation” pricing for all of EMD Serono’s fertility drugs — a move expected to cut prices for U.S. patients by an astonishing 42 to 79 percent.
“American couples struggling with infertility have faced crushing costs in their quest to start a family,” President Trump declared. “The actions I will outline this afternoon will dramatically slash the cost of IVF treatment and many of the most common fertility drugs.”
The President’s remarks underscored his administration’s continued focus on making healthcare affordable and accessible — a theme that has been central to Trump’s “America First” economic and health agenda.
Under the new framework, employers will also be able to offer fertility benefits independent of their standard health insurance plans, opening the door to lower costs and broader access for couples seeking in-vitro fertilization (IVF) and related treatments.
This announcement builds upon a series of Trump administration deals with leading pharmaceutical companies including Pfizer, Amgen, and AstraZeneca, all of which have agreed to provide U.S. patients with the same “most favored nation” discounts previously extended to foreign countries.
The move is widely seen as a bold corrective to years of inflated medical pricing, particularly in reproductive health, where American patients often pay two to three times more than patients in Europe or Canada for the same treatments.
By taking on Big Pharma and demanding equitable pricing, Trump’s administration has once again positioned itself as a champion of working families. The new deal is expected to make fertility care affordable for thousands of couples who had long viewed IVF as financially out of reach.
With this latest victory, President Trump continues to expand his administration’s legacy of economic fairness, healthcare reform, and support for American families, further solidifying his commitment to making America strong, prosperous, and family-oriented once again.
