According to an ODNI spokesman, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) has named Jeffrey Winchman, a former CIA employee, as the new electoral risks executive in charge of managing foreign intervention in US elections.

On Jan. 14, ODNI spokeswoman Nicole de Haay told The New York Times that Winchman had been chosen by ODNI Director of National Intelligence Avril D. Haines to fill the position.

Winchman is presently the head of analysis for the CIA's counterintelligence mission center, in addition to serving in the CIA for more than 30 years. He has also held jobs in cyber analytics, counterterrorism, and Middle East-related posts.

Winchman will be in charge of determining what represents harmful electoral interference once he is appointed.
