Legislation to streamline a World War II-era military lend-lease program with the aim of providing Ukraine and other Eastern European countries with American equipment faster was approved by the House of Representatives Thursday.

House Foreign Affairs Committee Gregory Meeks of New York said with unified support from the U.S. Congress, “Ukraine will win.”

As part of the U.S.'s posture of deterrence against Putin's aggression towards Ukraine, the bipartisan bill was unveiled in January after months of planning.

As a result of the legislation, the administration will have greater flexibility to send military equipment to the Ukraine and neighboring allies in Eastern Europe. Biden is expected to sign the legislation into law.
