Texas Deployment of More Floating Border Barriers

In a bold move to defend the Lone Star State’s sovereignty, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is expanding its innovative floating border barrier along the Rio Grande. Lt. Chris Olivarez, a DPS spokesperson, shared a video on X (formerly Twitter) of contractors connecting additional segments of the barrier, highlighting Texas’s commitment to combatting illegal immigration and human smuggling.

The floating barriers, implemented under Governor Greg Abbott’s Operation Lone Star initiative, have already demonstrated effectiveness in deterring illegal crossings in areas previously plagued by high-volume human smuggling. Despite their success, the Biden administration’s Department of Justice (DOJ) recently issued a letter demanding the removal of the barriers. Governor Abbott’s response was swift and unapologetic: “We will see you in court, Mr. President.”

Abbott firmly defended the state’s actions, stating, “Texas has the sovereign right to defend our border, under the U.S. Constitution and the Texas Constitution.” He also criticized the Biden administration’s lack of action on border security, arguing that it has emboldened human smugglers and put migrant lives at risk.

“Former President Biden’s refusal to secure the border encourages migrants to risk their lives crossing illegally through the Rio Grande, instead of safely and legally over a bridge,” Abbott stated.

The governor’s comments reflect growing frustration among conservatives with the federal government’s failure to address the escalating border crisis.

The floating barriers are part of a broader strategy by Texas to protect its citizens and uphold the rule of law. In addition to the barriers, the state has deployed thousands of National Guard troops and state troopers to secure the border, arrest human traffickers, and intercept illicit drugs like fentanyl pouring into the country.

The barriers have not only reduced illegal crossings but have also sent a clear message to drug cartels and smugglers that Texas will not tolerate lawlessness.

The DOJ’s demand to remove the barriers raises significant questions about the balance of power between the federal government and individual states. Conservatives argue that the Biden administration’s actions represent federal overreach and disregard for states’ constitutional rights to protect their citizens.

This showdown underscores the deep ideological divide over border security, with Texas leading the charge to secure America’s borders while the Biden administration appears more focused on dismantling such efforts.

Under President Donald Trump, America will see historic strides in border security, including the construction of the border wall and the implementation of the “Remain in Mexico” policy. These measures not only curbed illegal immigration but also sent a strong message that America would not tolerate lawlessness. Biden’s reckless dismantling of these policies has undone much of that progress, making states like Texas the frontline in the fight for secure borders.

Governor Abbott’s stand exemplifies the type of leadership America needs—a leader willing to prioritize the safety and security of citizens over appeasing the radical left. As the battle over the floating barrier heads to court, conservatives across the nation must rally behind Texas, demanding that Washington respect the rights of states to defend themselves when the federal government fails to do so.

America needs bold leaders like Governor Abbott who understand that a strong border isn’t just about stopping illegal crossings—it’s about safeguarding our nation’s future. In the words of President Trump, “If you don’t have borders, you don’t have a country.”

It’s time for Americans to stand with Texas and remind the Former President Biden that the Lone Star State isn’t just protecting its border—it’s protecting the American dream.
