Republican map set 4 rejected by Ohio Supreme Court

A fourth set of legislative district maps submitted by the Republican-controlled Ohio Redistricting Commission has been rejected by the Ohio Supreme Court for failing to comply with the state constitutional prohibition against gerrymandering.
Republicans on the commission violated the state's new redistricting regulations by drawing maps without following fairness or proportionality standards, according to a 4-3 decision by a panel of judges.
The new maps should ensure that seats won by both Democrats and Republicans in an election must be proportionate to their seat share in the recent statewide vote. Kennedy also criticized the majority justices for their stance on the issue.
