President Biden Wants to Ban 9mm Pistols

President Biden told reporters at the South Lawn of the White House on Monday that he wants to ban 9mm handguns.

During the weekend, when he visited Texas, officials showed him an x-ray … they demonstrated that a 22-caliber bullet might lodge in a lung and could be removed... saving perhaps a life. Biden stated that a 9mm bullet "blows the lung out of the body." .

“So the idea that these high caliber weapons—there’s simply no rational basis for it in terms of self-protection, hunting–and remember, the Constitution, the Second Amendment was never absolute,” said Biden.

Biden appeared to rule out issuing a new executive order to restrict the sale of guns in a later interview with reporters. Congressional members must come to an agreement on gun legislation, he said.

“I can’t dictate this stuff. I can do the things I’ve done and any executive action I can take, I’ll continue to take. But I can’t outlaw a weapon. I can’t change a background check. I can’t do that,” he said.
