Nashville Metro Police said they had found possible human remains at the site of the blast and it was not clear the motive behind the accident.
“We have tissue that we believe could be [human] remains and we’ll just have that examined,” Chief of Police John Drake told reporters during a press conference on Friday afternoon.
The RV exploded around 6:30 in the morning. CT on Friday 166 2nd Ave N in downtown Nashville. The explosion shook the streets of the largely deserted area early on Christmas morning, shattering windows and damaging buildings, and wounding three people. The authorities said they believed the explosion was deliberate.
Police did not confirm whether there were people in the convoy when it exploded. There are no known deaths yet.
