The United Kingdom and European Union leaders will meet face to face to try to strike a post-Brexit trade deal after failing again to narrow their differences on Monday, increasing the chance of an uncontrolled separation of roads at the end of the month.

Just over three weeks ago before Britain completed its journey outside the bloc, a senior British government source said there was "every chance we wouldn't get there" and European Union officials said that if there was anything, negotiations fell back.

Since Britain left the European Union in January, the two sides have been stuck in three issues, increasing the likelihood that many companies will say it is their nightmare scenario: No deal governing around $ 1 trillion in annual trade.
