A new round of sanctions against Russia will also be discussed by Ukrainian President this week. Sanctions will be needed as long as Russian troops remain in the country. In contrast, Zelenskyy said earlier that day to Russian journalists that Ukraine is prepared to discuss neutrality and compromise over the status of the eastern Donbas as part of a peace deal between the two countries.

A media watchdog from Russia has warned Russian media outlets not to report at length on the videos when they were released earlier this week. There were also reports that Ukraine's president said that the Russian invasion in Ukraine had caused devastation to Russian-speaking cities and worse losses than those experienced during the Chechen Wars.

Following previous indications that he was ready for compromise, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has made it clear that "territorial integrity" of Ukraine will be prioritized in talks this week in Turkey.
