Government will cherry-pick Trump Affidavit redactions

Former President Donald Trump's Florida home was sought in an affidavit filed earlier this month by the Department of Justice seeking a search warrant. Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz predicted the government would "cherry-pick" what they were planning to redact.

According to Dershowitz, Trump will not benefit from those redactions. Redacted copies of the affidavit will be made available to the public because the judge considers them unfavorable, he said.

In a Newsmax interview on Saturday, Dershowitz said the attorneys will not redact anything unfavorable to Trump. Redactions will be made to favor Trump. The government will claim national security."

In addition, he predicted that Trump's lawyers would not be permitted to participate in the process of determining what needs to be redacted. According to Dershowitz, the attorneys of the former president would identify informers because they would find out what their names were.

As far as releasing the Justice Department's affidavit is concerned, Trump's team is not involved. There have been several motions for the document to be released filed by news outlets as well as third parties.
