French Foreign Minister confirms the move to Lviv of France's Embassy in Ukraine

By Ecole polytechnique Université Paris-Saclay

French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian is expected to announce moving the French embassy in Ukraine to Lviv from Kyiv on Monday, as the ground situation in Ukraine deteriorates under the Russian invasion.

Le Drian acknowledged that the Russian president has lost the communications battle since the beginning of military operations in Ukraine last Thursday, after President Vladimir Putin put Russia's nuclear deterrent on high alert.

Afterward, he said that Russian oligarchs should worry about what will happen to their properties in France and Europe and that the European Union would begin banning Russian media outlets such as Sputnik and RT in the coming days as "war propaganda."
