On Wednesday, the United States, several global development banks, and other groups outlined a multi-billion dollar food security plan intended to ease the effects of the Russian war in Ukraine.
To prevent starvation resulting from war, rising food costs and climate damage to crops, several global development banks have announced they are "working quickly to enlist their financing, policy engagement and technical assistance."
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Inter-American Development Bank, the International Fund for Agricultural Development and the World Bank will also contribute tens of billions in the coming months and years to support food producers and address supply shortage issues.
