Following days of protest in Akron, Jayland Walker's funeral took place

After days of protests over his death, Akron, Ohio, has declared a day of mourning for Jayland Walker, a 25-year-old Black man killed by police gunfire on Wednesday.

As people drove by outside the Akron Civic Theatre honked their car horns in sympathy during Wednesday's viewing of Walker's open casket, dozens of people, including many of Walker's family members, passed his open casket.

People began claiming their seats for the afternoon funeral service more than 90 minutes before it was scheduled to begin. A steady line of people waited to pass through security checks before entering the large, ornate theater.
