DeSantis and Biden to meet in Florida after Hurricane Ian
On Oct. 5, President Biden visits Florida in the wake of Hurricane Ian, which devastated parts of the state.
Local, state, and federal officials will brief the Biden's in the afternoon about the response. White House officials say they will include Florida governor Ron DeSantis and FEMA chief Deanne Criswell.
Biden flew to Fort Myers in the morning. After arriving, he and First Lady Jill Biden were set to survey damaged areas while traveling via helicopter to Fishermans Wharf.
After the hurricane made landfall, the president and his wife will meet with residents and small business owners impacted by the storm, as well as workers who responded.
As he recovers and rebuilds from the devastating storm, Biden will deliver remarks at the White House reaffirming his commitment to Florida's people.
