Death threats for supporting Trump: Kanye West

Writer: Capitol TimesCapitol Times

During a television interview on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” on Oct. 6, rapper Kanye West discussed a range of hot-button issues, including why he wore a T-shirt that read “White Lives Matter” and getting death threats for embracing the former President Trump.

A T-shirt bearing the words "White Lives Matter" was worn by the musician during his presentation of the Yeezy Season 9 collection in Paris, France, on Oct. 3.

The late Pope John Paul II appeared on the front of West's T-shirt, which features the words "White Lives Matter" on the back. Conservative commentator Candace Owens wore the same T-shirt.

Originally, "white lives matter" was a response to the Black Lives Matter movement in 2015, which protested the killings of black men by police. Mobs vandalized police cars and property during BLM protests in 2020.
