Colorado mass shooting suspect, charged with 10 counts of murder; motive unclear

Authorities said on Tuesday that a 21-year-old man faces 10 counts of murder in connection with Monday's mass shooting at a Colorado grocery store, but the motive is not yet clear.


The suspect, identified by police as Ahmed Al-Alaiwi Al-Issa of Arvada, Colorado, was in stable condition after being shot in the leg in a shootout with responding police officers at the King Soopers facility in Boulder, about 28 miles (45 km) to the northwest. . From Denver on Monday afternoon.


The 10 victims, whose names were revealed at a press conference Tuesday morning, are between 20 and 65, and among them is Eric Tally, an 11-year-old Boulder Police veteran. Tali, 51, was a father of seven and was recently looking for a less risky job, according to a statement from his father.


The bloodshed is the second mass shooting in the country in a week. A gunman began a killing spree on March 16 in the Atlanta area, shooting eight people to death at health resorts three days before his arrest.
