Transportation Minister Pete Buttigieg appears to be backtracking on his department's proposal on the mileage tax. In a Monday interview, he denied that the administration was considering gas and mileage taxes as part of Joe Biden's overall infrastructure plan.
When asked whether tax miles might appear promising as a way to help pay for the infrastructure plan, Bottegaage said he wanted to make it clear that the potential customer "is not part of the conversation" about the bill.
